About this course
About this course
The BRCGS Professional 3-Day Fast Track is an accelerated route to competence for experienced technical professionals. The programme combines the core content of the Sites Training and Auditor Training courses into an intensive three-day virtual format for learners who have prior BRCGS experience and need a refreshed, consolidated qualification against Issue 9.
Who should attend
The course is aimed at senior technical managers, quality managers and experienced auditors who already hold BRCGS qualifications against earlier Issues and need to update rapidly. It is also suitable for consultants re-entering active BRCGS work and senior staff moving into a role that requires a formal qualification against the current Issue. Delegates typically have several years of site-level experience, familiarity with clause interpretation and some exposure to audit technique, and use the programme to consolidate and update rather than to learn the fundamentals.
What the programme covers
Day one covers senior management commitment, the food safety plan and the quality management system at clause level, with emphasis on the changes introduced in Issue 9. Day two focuses on site standards, product control, process control and personnel, followed by audit planning and evidence-sampling technique. Day three runs practical audit exercises, non-conformity writing and grading practice, and the final written assessment. The programme gives particular attention to the product safety culture, site security and authenticity clauses that have changed significantly in recent Issues, and to the audit technique implications of those changes.
Assessment and certification
The programme combines continuous assessment with a final written examination. A pass earns the official BRCGS Certificate of Achievement, which is equivalent to the certificates issued on the longer standalone programmes. The certificate is recognised internationally by retailers and certification bodies.
Course format and delivery
The programme runs over three consecutive days in a live virtual format with a BRCGS Approved senior trainer. Sessions are intensive and assume prior familiarity with the Standard at a working level. Delegates complete pre-course reading and receive supporting materials for continued reference after the programme.
Why this matters
The Fast Track is a practical solution for technical professionals whose roles demand current qualification without the time commitment of two separate courses. It is most effective for delegates who are already comfortable with the fundamentals and need to focus on what has changed and how it is being audited. For senior managers moving between roles, or consultants rebuilding a BRCGS practice after time away, the programme offers a structured route back to current credentials. Newcomers to BRCGS typically do better with the Food Safety Issue 9 Sites Training followed by the Auditor Training as separate programmes. For auditors progressing towards third-party work, the Lead Auditor qualification is a common next step, and the Internal Auditor programme is often useful alongside.
