About this course
About this course
Green Belt is the recognised project-level qualification in Lean Six Sigma, covering the methodology at the depth expected of professionals leading structured improvement projects. This self-paced eLearning programme delivers the full Green Belt body of knowledge in a flexible on-demand format, from foundation concepts through to advanced technique.
Who should attend
The programme is aimed at technical managers, quality managers, operations managers, continuous improvement specialists and team leaders taking on project-level improvement responsibility. It is suitable for staff moving directly into Green Belt work without prior Yellow Belt qualification and for those wanting to complete the full Green Belt programme in a self-paced format. Delegates running their own improvement projects under mentoring from senior Belts find the programme directly applicable.
What the programme covers
Content covers the full DMAIC framework at project-leader depth, from problem definition through to control plan handover. Sessions cover foundation Lean Six Sigma concepts, advanced process mapping and value stream analysis, statistical process control, basic hypothesis testing, measurement system analysis, design of experiments foundation concepts, failure mode and effects analysis, solution selection frameworks and control plan design. The programme also addresses project leadership, including stakeholder management, team facilitation, progress reporting to sponsors and the handling of resistance to change.
Assessment and certification
Learners complete knowledge checks throughout the programme, a written examination and a practical improvement project assignment. On passing, delegates receive the recognised Green Belt qualification, suitable evidence of project-level Lean Six Sigma competence for senior technical and operational role specifications.
Course format and delivery
The programme is delivered as self-paced eLearning across multiple modules, accessible on any device and resumable across sessions. The extended format provides time to develop the project assignment alongside the theoretical content and allows learners to revisit complex topics to reinforce understanding. Video lessons, worked examples and downloadable templates support the material throughout.
Why this matters
Green Belt qualification signals genuine project leadership capability in operational improvement and supports progression into continuous improvement, technical and operations management roles where delivery of improvement programmes is a core expectation. Delegates who complete the qualification lead projects more confidently, produce better benefit realisation from improvement work and build a foundation for progression to Black Belt and Master Black Belt levels. The self-paced format particularly suits professionals whose work patterns preclude classroom attendance. The programme pairs naturally with the Process Mapping and Problem Solving eLearning courses for complementary capability and with the wider eLearning catalogue for flexible continuing development.
